South Africa Stud Book

SA Stud Book is a privately owned, non-profit organization that has managed pedigree recording for livestock in South Africa since approximately 1903. It operates as a recognized Registering Authority under the Animal Improvement Act, 1998 (Act 62 of 1998), providing structured and lawful livestock registration while working closely with the agricultural sector. 

Formally recognized under the Stud Book Act of 1920, SA Stud Book holds international certification from the International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR), confirming compliance with globally accepted standards for animal recording and pedigree management.
